Trendy, vibrant, lively, crowded, cramped, faddish, all describe this shopping and entertainment district popular with Tokyo's youth. While Shibuya is in fact one of the 23 wards of Tokyo, it usually refers to just the popular area around Shibuya Station. The station is one of the busiest in Tokyo and on evenings and weekends the area is always packed. As well as its department stores, bars and cafes it's also famous for the NHK Broadcasting Center, the Olympic gymnasium, "Love Hotel Hill" and "Hachiko" - the statue of a dog.
